The Israeli Air Force is the highlight feature of the most recent War Thunder update, titled Winged Lions. The update brings a full line of the new planes to the game for testing, as well as the game’s first two Israeli tanks and an Israeli map for air battles.
Twenty aircraft in total make up the new line of planes, ranging from S-199 fighters imported from Czechoslovakia to the Kfir C-7 fighter jet, which can reach a top speed of Mach 2. There are 14 new ground vehicles and six new ships in the update as well, and the new Israel air battle map is joined by the returning Volokolamsk map for tank battles.
A more subtle modification in this update is how wind will affect battles, particularly the effects it has on smoke and other airborne particles. This will be most noticeable during storms, but those are rare and Gaijin Entertainment wants to find a “middle ground between a comfortable weather for playing and the beauty of the effects.” Given how the last game that tried to do military battles in the middle of a tornado went, it’s probably wise to exercise some restraint.
