The TrueAchievements server move is now complete [updated]

Update: The server move is now complete. We’re still running checks but things are looking good, so hopefully it should be back to business as usual… only we’re now more powerful than ever!

Original story: Last week, we posted about some database server issues we’ve been having. Our replacement server has now been delivered, and should be ready for us to move over to tomorrow morning, December 14th.

While we back up and restore the database, we will have to put the site into ‘read-only’ mode, and turn off the Xbox scanners.

The site will still be online, but it will be placed in ‘read-only’ mode to avoid any data loss while we carry out the move.

This means:

• Scanners will be turned off — your achievements and Gamerscore won’t be updated during the move
• No posting of solutions
• No commenting on Friend Feeds
• No posting in the forums or on news items
• No voting on solutions
• No rating of games
• No setting of completion estimates
• No gamer goal creation
• No status updates
• etc.

The work is due to start at 9.15am UTC, and we expect that everything should be back up and running by around midday.

Note: When the scanners are running again, they will collect any achievements you won during the downtime… there’s no need to stop gaming!
