Nate Purkeypile, an ex-Bethesda dev who had previously worked on several Bethesda titles, commented on the size of the Starfield project as compared to Fallout 76.
It may be some way off yet, but by all accounts, Starfield will be an ambitious game. We know that Xbox boss Phil Spencer wants Starfield to be the “most-played” Bethesda game ever, and it seems there are plenty of devs working to make that vision happen.
The Starfield team is apparently comprised of a huge number of developers
“The scope of that project is the main thing that’s different, because, you know, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4, that was all one team,” Purkeypile said in an interview with PCGamesN. “Fallout 76, that was two mostly… but yeah, Starfield is a much bigger project, it’s like 500 people or something on the team, whereas I think [Fallout] 76 was maybe 200, tops.”
The last proper look we had at the game was when Starfield gameplay was shown during the Xbox & Bethesda showcase. Currently, both Starfield and Redfall are on our big list of everything coming to Game Pass in 2022 and beyond — we’ll keep an eye out for any more news on either title.
What do you think of what we’ve heard for the scope of Starfield so far? How ambitious do you think the game will be? Let us know in the comments!
