According to AccountNGT, on Twitter (thanks VG247) — who originally leaked Star Wars Eclipse’s existence before its reveal at The Game Awards 2021 — Quantic Dream’s upcoming Star Wars title is drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us games, and features “traditional action gameplay.” Apparently, we can expect to see the addition of interactive storytelling, an open world, and a competitive multiplayer mode. The game is said to be launching on Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as Windows PC.
AccountNGT also noted that development on Star Wars Eclipse started in early 2021, and that the non-linear storyline is still being written. The project is reportedly split between Quantic Dream’s Montreal and Paris studios, with a portion of the Paris studio working on the game’s cinematics, story, level art, and more. The Montreal-based studio looks to be focussing its efforts on the game’s competitive multiplayer, gameplay, and level design.
This news comes after AccountNGT noted that Quantic Dream is reportedly working on a AAA game based on the Dark Sorcerer 2013 E3 PS4 tech demo.
