Overwatch 2’s problems haven’t stopped now that the game has launched — the game has suffered yet another DDoS attack.
Overwatch 2 has not been having an easy time of it. Server issues and DDoS attacks on the day of the game’s launch saw 40,000 player-long queues, but it seems these attacks haven’t stopped now that the game is here: Blizzard confirmed that yet another DDoS attack took place just yesterday, and only ended several hours ago.
Overwatch 2 continues to suffer DDoS attacks
There were two confirmed DDoS attacks on Overwatch 2’s launch day, and Blizzard’s customer support team confirms that another took place only hours ago, saying, “We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.” The team later updated players that attack was over, adding, “The DDOS attacks that we were monitoring have ended,” and recommending any players who were still having trouble logging in to try connection troubleshooting steps.
That’s not all Overwatch 2 is dealing with; an achievement issue which boots players out of the game is being investigated, while Blizzard has also had to temporarily disable two heroes that were linked to big gameplay bugs.
