It’s all fun and games until you get caught, banned, and publicly humiliated.
“We have decided to resume the practice of sharing the information about large ban waves done with the support of BattleEye anticheat,” the official Escape from Tarkov Twitter said on February 27. “Throughout the weekend over 4,000 cheaters were banned in Escape from Tarkov.”

Not only were thousands of players banned for cheating in the survival game, but their usernames were exposed as well. “We want honest players to see the nicknames of cheaters to know that justice has been served and the cheater who killed them in a raid has been punished and banned,” Battlestate Games spokesperson Dmitri Ogorodnikov told TechCrunch. The website reports that the number is even higher: 6,700.
