Minecraft’s next big content drop is set to be a collaboration with Dungeons & Dragons for an epic adventure that will see two games of unlimited possibilities collide officially for the first time. Roll for initiative!
Minecraft is no stranger to crossovers and collaborations, but its next major drop will take us on an epic adventure to the Forgotten Realms as Dungeons & Dragons makes its official debut in Mojang’s blockbuster title. One of the best games on Game Pass meets the biggest tabletop role-playing game out there… what’s not to like?
Minecraft heading to the Forgotten Realms with D&D crossover
Minecraft’s D&D DLC will offer a ten-hour action-RPG campaign that spans a blocky version of the Forgotten Realms, letting us roll up whatever character class we fancy, level up to get new abilities and gear, and take on iconic Monster Manual creatures including Beholders, Mimics, Displacer Beasts, and yes, dragons. Oh, and of course it also features Gelatinous Cubes — how could it not?
Completing the crossover, D&D Beyond will be getting the Monstrous Compendium Volume 3: Minecraft, offering official stat blocks for a selection of the most well-known Minecraft mobs for use in tabletop sessions. These new threats apparently operate outside of D&D’s typical action economy to feel closer to how they behave in Minecraft proper, so it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.
Minecraft’s Dungeons & Dragons DLC is set to launch some time this spring. Will you be heading to the Forgotten Realms, and if so, what class are you picking? Let us know!
