Hot on the heels of World of Warcraft news regarding cross-faction gameplay and the banning of boosting communities, we’ve got the underside of Activision Blizzard to report on today as well…it’s almost like things roll out in a particular way, isn’t it? Good news to cover other actions, perhaps?
Coming from the Twitter account of Jessica Gonzalez, the Founder and Organizer of “A Better ABK” and previous Blizzard employee, we find out that Activision’s VP of QA Christian Arends posted a message in the company’s Slack (in a post that cannot replied to) to “answer” a few common questions that employees may have given the attempt to unionize coming from Raven Software QA.
The post can only be described as typical union-busting bullshit speak (my words) and I find it incredible that so much care and time was taken in crafting these answers that the numbered bullets are all important enough to bear the number “1”. I particularly love the sentence “A union doesn’t do anything to help us produce world-class games.” Don’t worry though, the company takes the opportunity to remind you that it “respects your rights” to unionize.
You’ve also go to love the union card emoji that is leading the way in terms of reactions.
