As we have seen in the past with huge AAA launches, the Xbox Network (Xbox Live) sometimes has a paddy and throws its toys out of the pram, mostly down to the sheer number of players attempting to download and play the title in question. Halo Infinite’s launch yesterday looks to have been the next game to send the Xbox Network into a spin, causing a multitude of issues across the system, including achievement unlocks.
343 Industries has dropped an update on the Halo support Twitter account, reassuring players that their achievements will unlock eventually, and that they’re just suffering from a slight delay at the moment. The team are investigating the reports, though, and will drop an update if and when they have one.
Additionally, Halo community director Brian Jarrard has also posted an update on Twitter, warning players of an (increasingly common) issue with the Xbox Series X|S Quick Resume functionality. According to Jarrard, when booting up the Halo Infinite campaign from Quick Resume, you can become disconnected from the 343 services. This means that multiplayer items you find throughout the campaign won’t be added to your inventory, at least for now, so make sure you have re-established a connection before playing.
Both issues are currently under investigation, and the teams will update the community accordingly.
