Nacon has shared a new story trailer for its upcoming stealth adventure game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, set to launch this year for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum explores its story in a new trailer
This new trailer serves as a nice reminder that Gollum’s journey won’t always confine him to the dark and dangerous places of the world; we also see him wandering through serene forests and meeting more kindly characters, and the game’s Steam store page does confirm that he’ll be staying with the elves of Mirkwood. It’ll be interesting to see how The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will play out; the trailer emphasises that as we might expect Gollum will normally be found skulking in the shadows, and it’s a fascinating idea to think of witnessing important events from the perspective of someone usually found on the edge of them.
As Gollum, we’ll need to utilise all our stealth to survive, while also contending with the split personalities of Gollum and Sméagol. “Discover Daedalic’s untold story through a trailer featuring Gollum’s extraordinary adventure in search of his Precious,” Nacon says. “This original story will take you to several places across Middle-earth where you’ll meet well-known characters from the books of J.R.R. Tolkien.”
