Following Dead Island 2 preview impressions this week, Dambuster Studios has begun discussing the game further, revealing that the main story content, along with a few side missions, will take around 20 hours to complete.
Dead Island 2 will feature around 20 hours of main story content, Dambuster Studios has said, but with the addition of collectables, a co-op mode, and six diverse characters to play with, there should be plenty of game to play. Dead Island 2 launches on April 21st for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, when we’ll find out if it has what it takes to become one of the best Xbox zombie games.
Dead Island 2 game length revealed
Speaking with Wccftech, Dambuster Studios’ art director Adam Olsson revealed that the main story in Dead Island 2 will offer around 20 hours of content. “I don’t know exactly. I think we do have some guidance stating that if you take part in some secondary missions and other activities, the whole experience is around 20 hours,” Olsson said. “On top of that, we have the co-op mode, collectables, and you could always replay Dead Island 2 with a new character if you feel like it.”
We published our Dead Island 2 preview impressions earlier this week, and while the main plot seems to be similar to themes we’ve seen from games in the genre, Dead Island 2’s gore system is an absolute highlight. With the addition of the skill card system, various Slayers, and the co-op mode that Olsson mentioned, we’re sure we’ll be spending much more time dismembering zombies.
