The top ten of our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart does see a slight change, as, for the first time in a long time, Black Ops Cold War isn’t in second place — instead of sitting just below Modern Warfare as usual, it’s dropped three places to fifth. The game that booted it out of second is Fortnite, while Minecraft has jumped up to third. Below that, it’s the usual reshuffling, as each game moves up or down to make room for the changes, and it’s not until 15th and 16th that we see a more noticeable change. Overwatch has jumped up three spaces to 15th, while Knockout City is starting to slip, having fallen two spaces to 16th — most likely a result of players moving on to something else.
Just below, Sea of Thieves has dropped two places to 24th — but it’s sure to rocket up when its free Pirates of the Caribbean crossover arrives later this month. Battlefield 4, meanwhile, has re-joined the top 40 at a very respectable 25th, while Battlefield V has jumped up ten spaces to 21st. The boost for both is probably a result of the increasing excitement for the newly-revealed Battlefield 2042, and it’ll be interesting to see where each game places next week. Rounding out the top 40, we have The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited at 39th, while Human Fall Flat has dropped 13 places to 40th. This week’s three disappearances are The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, Resident Evil Village, and SnowRunner.
Looking ahead, we’ve got the launch of titles such as Scarlet Nexus to look forward to, as well as any surprise Xbox Game Pass announcements. What do you think will break into the top 40 next? Let us know in the comments!
