While details surrounding the terms of the agreement and the expected release window are yet to be revealed, some details about the title have been released. The Warhammer: Age of Sigmar game will feature a socially interactive player-versus-environment world, which will see us commanding the war hosts of the God-king Sigmar and his allies against the followers of the Chaos Gods. Age of Sigmar is said to take place throughout different seasons, with each offering new characters to collect and realms to explore. Characters will be able to be customised, offering up unique stories, gameplay, and options as we cooperate with other players and guide how sections of the Realms are retaken, and peace restored.
“As one of the world’s largest game publishers, Nexon is the ideal long-term strategic partner to bring Warhammer Age of Sigmar to life in a unique new way that will appeal to gamers the world over,” says head of global licensing for Games Workshop, Jon Gillard. “Nexon’s world-class Live Operations and infrastructure offers exciting opportunities for engaging current and new Warhammer fans in this massive universe. We’re really excited to see the fruits of this collaboration over the coming years.”
The game’s development is still in the early stages, but the team expects to see it release across consoles, PC, and mobile devices. Will you be keeping an eye on this project? Let us know in the comments!
